Open your doors to a new talent pool! Women Returners, the return to work experts, is offering fully-funded Returner-Friendly Recruitment Training, specifically designed for SMEs and start-ups in Scotland.
As part of our Career Boost Programme funded by the Scottish Government, we are partnering with Scottish Enterprise to provide Scottish SMEs and start-ups with free-of-charge training on how to engage and support the high-calibre talent pool of professionals returning after a long career break. Training will take place via a 90-minute interactive webinar on 2 March 2022.
How will SMEs and start-ups benefit from the training?
The training will be expert-led, practical and interactive. After the training, you will:
- Understand the business case for hiring professionals on career break
- Learn how to engage your hiring managers with the business rationale
- Gain insight into the challenges that returners face through normal recruitment processes
- Learn about how to find returner candidates
- Get practical advice on how to de-bias your recruitment process for returner candidates
- Find out how to make your on-boarding process inclusive and welcoming for returners
- Learn how to support returner joiners through the first six months back at work
Women Returners’ Senior Team will share their best-practice knowledge on these areas, based on their experience of introducing returner programmes to the UK and partnering with over 120 employers to design and support returner initiatives. You will then join the discussion on how to put in place processes to ensure your organisation is set up to attract and support professionals who have taken an extended career break.
Is this training suitable for me?
The training is targeted at SMEs and start-ups (defined as less than 250 employees and a turnover of less than €50 million). As this training is funded by the Scottish Government Women Returners Fund, organisations must be based in Scotland.
Participants may be business leaders or hiring managers, or from HR or recruitment.
How and when will the training be delivered?
The training will be delivered virtually by Women Returners in a 90-minute session on Zoom. It will be interactive, with the opportunity for questions and discussion. Following the training session, you will be provided with best practice guidelines on ‘Returner-Friendly Recruitment’ to help you to implement the changes at your organisation.
The training will take place on 2 March 2022, 9.30 – 11am.
Numbers will be limited to enable interactivity so please do register asap.
