Are you a Scottish employer in the Finance, Fintech or Professional Services Sector interested in hiring returning talent? Join us at our fully-funded Returner-Employer Connection Event on 18 March 2021
In February-March 2021, Women Returners is running the Return to Work Accelerator Scotland funded by the Scottish Government, consisting of a Return to Work Bootcamp for returners and a Returner-Employer Connection Event. The virtual Connection Event on 18 March 2021 (10:00-12:30) will introduce women returners to employers interested in hiring them. This is an excellent free-of-charge opportunity for employers in Scotland in the Finance, Fintech and Professional Services sectors to meet with a high calibre talent pool of women seeking to return to the professional workplace. Employers attending the event include BlackRock, DAC Beachcroft, FDM Group, Hymans Robertson, J.P. Morgan, Phoenix Group, St.James’s Place Academy, TSB and Waterstons.
How will I benefit from the event?
- You will have access to a high calibre talent pool of individuals who wish to return to professional level work and the opportunity to showcase your commitment to gender diversity
- The online event platform will provide you with your own employer booth where you can share information and make connections with high-calibre returner candidates
- You will be able to have group and one-to-one chats with returners to determine whether there is a good fit for potential job opportunities in the future
Prior to the Connection Event, Women Returners will host a 1-hour meeting with all participating employers to discuss the business case for hiring returners, how to set up a returner for success and provide a demonstration of the online platform.
Is there a cost to attending the event?
As the event is fully funded by the Scottish Government this is a free-of-charge event for both employers and returners.
Do I need to be a large employer?
No, the event is open to small, medium and large employers – provided you may have an opportunity during 2021 to hire a returner.
What is the role of the Scottish Government?
The Scottish Government Women Returners Fund is fully-funding a Return to Work Bootcamp, the Connection Event and the pre-event briefing for employers. You can read the announcement regarding the funding here.
Am I committed to hiring a returner at the event?
The purpose of the event is to connect you with an exceptional talent pool of individuals and to start exploratory conversations about opportunities with your organisation. We very much hope that the event will lead to employment, but you do not have to guarantee a role.
Do I have to make other commitments?
If you hire a returner after the event, we strongly encourage you to provide them with our Career Returners Coaching Programme which supports returners through the back-to-work transition and sets them up for success.
What do I do if I’d like to attend the event?
Interested employers should contact Hazel Little on Hazel@womenreturners.com to secure your place at the event. Please get in touch as soon as possible, latest 5 March 2021.
