Hayfin is partnering with Women Returners and the Diversity Project to launch its first ever Hayfin Returners Programme for Financial Services professionals who are looking to make a return to work after a career break of 18 months or more as at September 2023.
What you can expect
The Hayfin Returners Programme is aimed at individuals who are looking to relaunch their careers in financial services after an extended career break and would like to join a dynamic and collaborative culture where everyone feels included and respected. They have three available roles you can apply to: a Corporate Legal Counsel, a Collateralised Loan Obligation (CLO) Operations Role, and an Operations Analyst role.
During your time on the programme with Hayfin, you will:
- Undertake a key role in the business with a strong possibility of permanent employment at the end of the programme
- Benefit from Career Returner Coaching Programme to support your transition back into work
- Be part of a wider cohort of returners on the cross company programme
- You will be matched with a mentor and buddy to help you navigate your return at Hayfin
Corporate Legal Counsel
Hayfin is seeking a Corporate Legal Counsel who would have a range of responsibilities as part of their role:
General corporate
- Review and execution of commercial agreements, including engagement letters, service provider contracts
- Maintain database of commercial agreements and coordinating with business unit leads on key events (notice periods, termination rights, reconciliation to SG&A budget)
- Lead on law firm billing across funds and corporate and maintain/monitor the corporate legal budget
- Quarterly billing meetings with main law firms
- Work with accounts payable team to ensure timely payment
- Track corporate expenses against budget
- Drafting, reviewing and revising legal policies
- Overall coordination of legal matters relating to Hayfin intellectual property
- Support to HR team on employee matters (leavers, awards, litigation)
- Support to finance team on GP finance matters (including assisting on execution of corporate credit facilities)
- General ad hoc corporate matters as they arise from time to time (shared with other team members as appropriate)
Corporate Governance
- Lead on managing new office/overseas corporate infrastructure of Hayfin advisory entities
Project Management and execution
- Lead on key corporate projects including managing stakeholders and project execution / implementation. Example projects include:

- Annual team investment programme in Hayfin funds
Examples of historic projects:

Collateralised Loan Obligation (CLO) Operations Role
Hayfin is seeking an operations candidate with experience in the CLO industry to support the European CLO operations business based in London. The candidate will be an integral part of the team with growth opportunities and involvement in a range of responsibilities. The role will report to the Operations Manager.
The successful applicant will receive training to provide support and assistance on a variety of tasks listed below:
- Review of CLO investor reporting and waterfalls
- Estimated annual CLO Equity forecasting
- Navigating through the life cycle of a CLO from incorporation through to post reinvestment scenarios
- Assisting CLO and Retention Vehicle audits including ESMA reporting
- Communicating periodic distributions for the CLO manager
- Ad-hoc special projects as requested by the portfolio manager and other internal groups
- Routine interaction with corporate services providers, trustees, administrators and middle office providers

Operations Analyst
Hayfin are seeking an Operations Analyst to join their Operations team based in London. The core Operations team reports into the Operations Director. The team is responsible for processing cash reconciliations, asset servicing and administration of all assets under management.
The Operations Analyst role will have a variety of responsibilities:
- Asset Administration
- Daily Reconciliations
- Cash Reconciliations
- Position Reconciliations
- WSO administration & asset data processing
- Cash payments
- Assist with expense payments, ensuring correct allocations across transactions
- Ad hoc payments
- Adhoc reporting
What they are looking for
- Strong cash reconciliation background
- Loan Servicing background
- Ability to demonstrate a level of interest on asset management and financial instruments
- A proven track record of using MS Office products, especially a good proficiency in MS Excel
- Ability to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and written
- Ability to build strong relationships across all layers of a business; work collaboratively with others internally and externally
- Dynamic and resourceful
- Ability to demonstrate strong organisational skills; able to juggle multiple priorities and meet committed deadlines
- Attention to detail, see things others don’t see and and ability to complete all tasks provided
- Ability to explore the problem, identify innovative solutions, and present them to others
- Someone who is articulate, presents with gravitas, and makes others listen
