Return to Work with FDM’s New Tech Returners Programme
FDM’s Tech Returners Programme offers those who have previous Software Development or Engineering experience a chance to step back into a rewarding and successful career.
Whether it has been 1 year or 20 years, the programme is dedicated to supporting professionals who are looking to re-join the workforce after their career break.
This is an opportunity to up-skill in current and emerging technologies and to refamiliarize yourselves with current industry best practices in Software Development and Engineering, before working in a full-time role as an FDM Consultant.
Training to get your confidence back
Their renowned FDM Academy online training programme will refresh and expand your existing skill set, ensuring you feel fully confident to return to the workplace and prepare you for your new role as an FDM Consultant.
The 14-week online training will cover:
- Professional skills refresher, such as presentation skills, interview techniques and stakeholder management
- Introduction to Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Trainer led group projects
- Core skills: Object-oriented programming (e.g. Java/Scala), Unix O/S, Database and SQL, Building a Web UI using HTML/CSS/JavaScript and React, application frameworks programming and database connectivity.
After training, FDM will provide continuous mentorship and support in starting your role with one of their clients, whilst remaining in full-time employment with FDM.
What FDM is looking for in candidates:
- Looking to return to work full time
- Minimum 1-year career break
- 3+ years software engineering, development, or automation testing experience
- Be able to commit to working on-site with their client as an FDM Consultant for two years, once the training period is complete
