Facebook has been successfully running their Return to Work Programme in more than 10 cities across the US and is now expanding into Europe. Their 16-week immersive program designed for those who have left the workforce for 2 years or longer and are looking to re-enter the workforce. At the end of the term, those who have demonstrated their abilities to succeed and have an impact at Facebook will be considered for a permanent position.

Roles available

Production Engineer – Production Engineers at Facebook are hybrid software/systems engineers who ensure that Facebook’s services run smoothly and have the capacity for future growth. They are embedded in every one of Facebook’s product and infrastructure teams, and are core participants in every significant engineering effort underway in the company. The team is comprised of varying levels of experience and backgrounds, from new grads to industry veterans. Relevant industry experience is important (Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), Systems Engineer, Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Network Engineer, Systems Administrator, Linux Administrator, Database Administrator or similar role), but ultimately less so than your demonstrated abilities and attitude. They sail into uncharted waters every day at Facebook in Production Engineering, and they are always learning.

Critical Facility Engineer – Their data centers serve as the foundation upon which their software operates to meet the demands of their customers. The data center Critical Facility Engineer will work with the facilities engineering team to facilitate operating and maintaining the data center. The candidate will need to be experienced in diverse industries such as electrical generation, electrical distribution, cooling technologies and fire suppression systems. The Critical Facility Engineers, together with the facilities team, are responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the critical facilities infrastructure of the Data Center. The team comprises varying levels of experience and backgrounds, from new grads to industry veterans. Mission Critical experience is important (Semiconductor, Data Center, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical and Utilities), but ultimately less so than your demonstrated abilities and attitude. The Facility Operations team faces new challenges every day and they are always learning.

Technical Program Manager – Are you passionate about helping those around you be more effective? Do you think about technology as a way to increase efficiency and change how business operates? Facebook is looking for candidates that share their passion for tackling complexity head-on, to help build platforms that can scale through multiple orders of magnitude. As a Technical Program Manager, you will play a key role within infrastructure engineering, driving huge projects that span the organisation. Their team comprises varying levels of experience and backgrounds, from new grads to industry veterans. They look at relevant experience as well as demonstrated abilities. Facebook’s infrastructure is constantly redefining what is possible, and they need technical program managers that can do the same.

Global Operations Program Manager – Global Operations focuses on supporting their users through both direct support interactions as well as scalable solutions to improve the health of their products by helping people understand how to use them. Those who join our teams are very passionate about solving people’s issues, and are advocates for the Facebook community. If you like helping people, Global Operations is for you. The Program Managers within Global Operations improve the overall support experience for their communities by; analyzing patterns of potential abuse activity, investigating trends to help enforce Facebook policies, as well as organizing cross-functional teams to take action. Program Managers work alongside Market Specialists, Policy experts, Product Managers, UX Researchers, Data Scientists, and Engineers to proactively identify and lead projects geared towards reducing the spread of low-quality content, including misinformation, sensationalism, engagement bait and clickbait among others. Successful candidates for this role have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, can navigate ambiguity and are always looking for strategic opportunities for optimising and automating processes, solving challenging problems and most importantly helping to prevent them.
