During your career break you may have been working on a part-time or freelance basis to fit around your other commitments or you may not have done any paid work for a number of years.

The programme is designed to help you to ease back into work in a safe and structured manner and allow you to explore the scope of opportunity within Atkins and confirm where you can best fit. As a returner Atkins’ recognise you will be seeking to re-establish your professional career, building on your previous expertise and experiences and that you will have unique needs and individual goals.

Atkins develops individuals through a portfolio of training and development courses that are designed to help you make the best of your abilities and talent.  You will build your expertise while working on projects within their client-embedded teams and will be supported by your line manager and project or subject mentor. You will receive coaching from Women Returners and  training courses in accordance with your agreed development plan.

  • Quantity Surveyors – Birmingham, London, Stockton; some travel to client sites may be required

You’ll be involved with major building and engineering projects, ensuring that value for money is always balanced with meeting quality standards and regulations. Cost-planning and commercial management are integral components of a quantity surveyor’s role, but an Atkins professional goes further to deliver success. Their quantity surveyors know everything about statutory building regulations, assess commercial risks and often work with both clients and contractors, navigating on- and off-site requirements to ensure projects run smoothly. You’ll be part of some of the biggest and most rewarding construction projects around.
