Does an 18-month career break mean that I can’t have worked at all for at least 18 months?

No. If you have been working on a small-scale or in a non-professional role to fit around family or other commitments, you are welcome to apply. The 18-month period covers the period up to the start of the programme in March 2022. Please clearly state your career break on your CV.

Will the programme involve working from home?

Each organisation will have their own working from home policy during the pandemic. It is likely the roles will start remotely and may include hybrid working but this will be determined closer to the time and in line with government guidance.

What types of flexible working are available during and after the programme?

The programme is likely to start with remote working. The other forms of flexible working on offer will depend on each company and role

Can I apply to more than one of the participating companies?

You can apply to more than one participating company but please be targeted in your selection

I’m not free on the interview days. Can I apply anyway?

Please do apply but we cannot guarantee that we can accommodate other interview dates

Will you be running any programmes after this one?

At the moment, this is the only programme of this type that is scheduled for 2022

Is this a paid programme?

Yes, roles will be paid at a suitable professional level

Is the programme open to men as well as women?

No, the programme is funded by the Scottish Government Women Returners Fund.  It is only open to women to apply.

I’d like to work for one of the companies, but my area of expertise isn’t listed. Should I apply anyway?

First look at the other participating companies to see if your skills and experience are a better fit. If not, and you feel that your skills and experience may be relevant, you can send your CV with an explanation in your cover letter

Do I need to attend the January insight event in order to apply?

No, you do not need to attend the insight event to apply.
