About the team and role

Their team of about 140 Engineers is supported by their small and friendly support team, comprising of Finance, HR, IT, Administration and Marketing. Working closely with the Finance Director in this hands-on role, you will have responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Company accounts. One of your first tasks will be to recruit an Apprentice/Junior Accountant who you will then manage to undertake all the PL & SL, expenses, and other routine document processing and data entry.

Your role will include

  • With the FD, collate and complete the:
    • Monthly management accounts to trial balance (journals and reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts)
    • Weekly & Monthly staff timesheets monitoring and reconciliation
    • Financial inputs for the annual business plan
    • Budgeting and cash flow forecasting
    • Annual audit and statutory financial statements
  • Oversee and review PL, SL, expenses, and other entries made by the Apprentice/Junior Accountant
  • Management and reconciliation of the Company bank transactions, updating cash flow and treasury reporting
  • Update monthly exchange rates and circulate
  • Maintain fixed asset register
  • Liaise and work with Ingérop for financial matters, initiatives, reporting and month and year end processes
  • Review, approve and reconcile expenses and Company Credit cards
  • Working with internal project managers and the relevant Board Director to review project financials and forecasting as part of the monthly review of revenue recognition
  • Providing internal project managers with guidance and support in the financial aspects of their projects and Company systems
  • Create, maintain, and close projects in Agresso system
  • Ad hoc reporting of projects, costs, time, rates etc. from Agresso system
  • Monthly payroll processing, reconciliation, and accounts
  • Provision of advice for taxation matters – corporate, personal (executives), international

Skills and experience they are seeking

  • They are open to candidates that are qualified by experience, part qualified or professionally qualified as ACCA
  • Substantial experience, ideally in a SME / Consultancy business with international exposure
  • IT literate, with strong excel skills
  • Payroll experience (internal processing) would be beneficial
  • Candidates should have a strong base of accountancy skills and knowledge and good communication and team working skills
