Plan A Consultants is excited to offer supported hiring opportunities for two roles, as they ‘scale up’ their Clerkenwell based team.  They are looking for a part time Finance and Commercial Manager to support the team in managing the commercial aspects of the business and a Marketing and Business Development Manager. They welcome returners, who have had a career break of 18+ months, to apply.  There is the option to discuss flexible working and a successful candidate will receive coaching support through the transition period from Women Returners.

You may have taken time out for childcare or eldercare, for relocation or for other reasons.  You may have been working on a small-scale basis to fit around your other commitments or not done any paid work for a number of years.

Opportunities Available

Finance and Commercial Manager (Permanent – Part time)

You will have worked previously in a financial management position and are keen to develop your skills and experience once more.

The key responsibilities will include:

  • Working alongside the Directors in the strategic management of the commercial activities of the business
  • Company budgeting and forecasting
  • Liaising with their accountants and responsible for payroll, VAT and HMRC processes
  • Preparation of fee proposals, invoicing and cash flow management
  • Project financial performance monitoring and reporting
  • Office lease management
  • Reviewing processes affecting efficiency

The successful candidate will be:

  • Experienced and have a proven track record of working in a commercial and financial environment
  • Determined, proactive, accurate hands-on and works well under pressure in a fast paced environment

It is anticipated that the role may require 3 days a week, but they are open to discussion.

Marketing/Business Development Manager (6 months – Part time)

You will have worked previously in a business development position and are keen to develop your skills and experience once more.

The key responsibilities would include:

  • Develop and implement a communication strategy that raises the profile of the organisation
  • Establish and implement good practice activities related to pipeline management, bid management and CRM
  • Share knowledge and expertise with existing junior BD team member and mentor and support their development
  • Contribute to separate PR/ branding exercise

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven track record of producing high quality written content
  • Ability to organise workloads and deliver to tight deadlines
  • Determined, proactive, accurate hands-on and works well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Experience of Adobe Creative Suite & Microsoft Office 365
  • Ideally you will bring a creative and innovative approach to the role

Plan A Consultants will review their business needs at the end of the 6 month contract.  There may be the opportunity for further work but this is not guaranteed.

Who You Are

  • Someone who has had a career break of 18+ months and is looking to return to a professional working environment
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Previous experience in the design or construction industry would be beneficial but not a pre-requisite; Plan A Consultants welcomes applications from returners from other sectors, with transferable skills as detailed above
