Opportunity: 6-month Returnship or 9-month Retraining Programme starting January 2023
Application Deadline: 14 October

Not all careers in financial services are the same: it’s possible to combine professional success with the entrepreneurial spirit and genuine relationships that bring an organisation to life. The trick lies in welcoming passionate people and giving them the freedom to work at their best.
If you’ve had a career break of two or more years, Investec is partnering with Women Returners to offer a supportive Return to Work Programme to help you get back into full-time work. Whether you’re interested in retraining into a new role or returning to a role you are already experienced and familiar with, Investec would like to hear from you.
About the Investec Return to Work Programme
For 2022 there are two pathways on the Return to Work Programme:
- For candidates who have a background in professional services, but who are looking to change their career path, there is a 9-month retraining opportunity to retrain and complete exams where necessary.
- For candidates who are wishing to return to a similar role as their previous professional experience, Investec is offering a 6-month returnship opportunity.
Both options are with a view to permanent employment at the end of the programme. You will receive a competitive package of pay and benefits including a pension scheme, life assurance, income protection, private healthcare and a range of wellbeing options including a wellbeing subsidy, employee assistance programme and access to physiotherapy and psychologist services.
While these roles are full-time during the initial placement, please speak to Investec about any flexible working options you may require. Beyond the programme for successful returners, there will also be opportunities to gain further qualifications, access the Investec client database and grow your own client business where relevant.
About the retraining opportunity
Investec will support you throughout the 9 month programme. You will work closely alongside an experienced Investec team to learn the business, understand the Investec approach and get to know the client base, while demonstrating your strong transferable skills. Study leave will be available during the contract for those needing to complete exams. You’ll have a buddy from day one and an Investec mentor, and group coaching will be provided by Women Returners.
About the returnship opportunity
As an experienced individual, returning to the same field you were previously in, you will work closely alongside an Investec team for 6 months, in a role that enables you to demonstrate your skills and experience. In addition to a supportive environment and line manager, you will have additional support from a buddy and mentor. Coaching from Women Returners will also help you with your transition back to work.
