If you are an experienced professional who has been out of work for 2 or more years and are looking to return to the work place and get your career back on track, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you. The Highways England Returner Programme, now in its fourth year running, is designed to give you a great experience working for a company that values you as an individual and wants to help you move forward whilst also allowing the organisation to benefit from all your previous experience gained prior to your career break.

Come and join Highways England and Women Returners on 15 September for a virtual launch event where you will get the opportunity to hear about previous returners and their success stories, more about the Returner Programme and hear from the line managers themselves about the fantastic career path you could have with Highways England. The event is online via Microsoft Teams.
What to expect on the day from the event:
9:45 Introduction and Programme Information
10:40 Current Highways England Returners will share their journeys and success stories
11:00 Q+A, the opportunity to ask questions to the current Returners
11:30 Break for 10 minutes
11:45 Women Returners Workshop to help you prepare for your return to work
12:15 Representatives from each division that are advertising will share more information about the opportunities available. Followed by a Q+A to ask questions about any of the roles you may be interested in.

Highways England has a range of opportunities available where you will be able to become completely integrated into a team within the organisation and build up any lost confidence, brush up on those management skills or gain some new ones. If you are successful then you will be offered a 6 month contract for a role with Highways England along with various opportunities throughout the 6 months to strengthen your skill set, confidence and more.

- Senior Commercial Lawyer and Commercial Lawyer (Birmingham or Guildford)
- Business Planning Manager (Birmingham or Guildford)
- Planning Manager (Birmingham)
- Civil Engineering Estimator (Leeds, Manchester, Bristol or Guildford)
- Project Manager (Bristol or Bedford)
- Assistant Project Manager (Manchester)
- Reporting Manager (Leeds)
