GfK is partnering with Women Returners to launch their very first Reconnect Returner Programme for opportunities based in London. The Programme is targeted at all experienced professionals looking to return to work after an extended career break.
About the GfK Reconnect Returner Programme
- Positions are for mid-senior level roles across the UK business, including technology and commercial.
- You will receive coaching support from Women Returners to help you to transition successfully back into the workplace. As coaching will be delivered centrally as a cohort of GfK returners, you will benefit from a supportive peer network of like-minded people across the organisation.
- GfK will partner you with both a professional mentor and a buddy to support your return to work and your professional development.

Opportunities on the Programme
Technology Roles
Technical Architect Role
Joining as an architect in one of GfK’s product domains, you will work closely with the product delivery teams to help build solutions that pioneer how market research is conducted within the industry. This role is best suited to candidates who have a strong technical background, in building data-intensive scalable SaaS platforms, whether that be as a technical lead, engineer or architect.
Technical Business Analyst
As a Technical Business Analyst, you will align both solution strategy and high-level design with the Product Manager and Scrum Team. Analysing the domain/system and suggesting solution options while enabling the team to deliver the envisioned solution.
Agile Coach
As an Agile Coach with a strong background in technology and agile methodologies you will take full ownership for the development of project management processes and practices. You will interact with key Product Owners, Engineering, QA and Data Science team members to deliver projects and initiatives in support of business objectives.
Scrum Master
As a Scrum Master with a background in technology and agile methodologies you will take full ownership for the development of project management processes and practices. You will interact with key Product Owners, Engineering, QA and Data Science team members to deliver projects and initiatives in support of business objectives. You will support 1-2 agile team through the various agile ceremonies whilst providing status reports reflecting current project activities, dependencies, and impediments. You will work through blockers to keep the teams moving forward and support projects with geographically distributed teams, including third-party vendors.
For the technology roles they are looking for people who have some of the following skills and experience:
- Jira / Confluence experience
- Stakeholder manager
- Agile coach/scrum master experience
- Business analysis
- Knowledge of software engineering practices
Commercial Role
Client Insights Manager role
With clients at the centre of all they do, the Client Insight Manager (Market Intelligence) is the link between GfK and their customers. As part of the Client Solutions team, this role brings together industry and product knowledge to provide innovative client solutions. Reporting to the Client Insight Director (MI), the Client Insight Manager (MI) will have strong interpersonal skills and use these to truly understand clients’ business challenges and provide them with tailored insight from GfK’s data to help inform their strategic decisions. The Client Insight Manager will be able to drive client engagement through actionable insight and innovative solutions, quickly becoming a trusted client partner and respected commentator on specific industries, products and channels.
This role would suit a candidate with some of the following experience:
- Data Analysis or Data Reporting
- Account Management
- B2B customer service
- Confident in presenting to clients
In addition to the technical experience listed above, they would like to see:

- People who are naturally curious, strong communicators and can build effective relationships across departments and geographies and who enjoy working in an environment of high integrity and trust.
To be eligible for the programme you must have the right to work in the UK to apply. Your career break should be 18 months or months or more (as of January 2023). You may have taken time out to look after children or elderly/sick relatives, for relocation, for a personal health issue or for other reasons. You may have been working on a small-scale basis to fit around your other commitments or have not done any paid work for several years.
