What are they offering?
Standard Life Aberdeen, in partnership with Women Returners, is looking to support up to 4 professionals through a 6 month returnship within the Investments Division. Applicants must have taken a career break of 18 months or more (as at May 2021). You may have been working on a small-scale basis to fit around your other commitments or have not done any paid work for a number of years.

What roles do they have available?
They are seeking individuals for the following areas within Investments:
- Quant software development
Looking to attract those with strong programming skills in a variety of programming languages (Python and Matlab would be an advantage). You should have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office with good attention to detail and strong numerical/analytical skills. A technical or statistical background would be highly desirable.
- Credit Investment Management – Fixed Income
Corporate Credit research area working on output across a number of companies/counterparties from multiple geographies. Looking to attract those with an understanding of fundamental company analysis and experience of Credit/Equity or Company Analysis in an investment context. It would also be beneficial to have a good understanding/experience of interpreting financial statements/accounting alongside strong excel skills.
- Private Markets & Real Estate Structuring
A truly multi-disciplinary team, covering Investment, Capital Markets, Legal and Tax components in Private Markets & Real Estate. You will be energetic, flexible, collaborative, and productive; a strong teammate and senior professional. You should have project management, negotiation, influencing and problem solving skills and be competent in Microsoft products, particularly Word and Excel.
This opportunity may attract those with a legal or accountancy background or other relevant qualification. Exposure to the Financial Services Industry and previous solid understanding of either commercial transactions, fund transactions and/or real estate or private market transactions.
- Private Equity Analyst
This area supports in all aspects of investment transaction work and project management within established investment policies and procedures. Looking for those with knowledge of private equity via experience of M&A transactions. Some experience in M&A processes and in the assessment of potential investments is required. Demonstration of thought leadership and/or process/product/client innovation.
