About Artemis
Independent and owner-managed, Artemis was founded in 1997 by four fund managers. Now with over 200 staff, their focus remains on exemplary investment performance and client service. All Artemis staff share these two ideals – and the same flair and enthusiasm for fund management. They manage over £25 billion across a range of funds, investment trusts and both pooled and segregated institutional portfolios.
Key to the successful delivery of good client outcomes is creating and maintaining a healthy, customer-centric culture at Artemis. They have defined the core cultural principles as most important to Artemis: clients come first, collaboration and integrity & accountability.
They have offices in Edinburgh, London, Zurich and Munich and, with fewer staff than one might expect for the size and growth of the business, each individual’s contribution is vital to the success of the company.
How they relate to the world beyond fund management is a distinctive part of the Artemis culture. They recognise the importance of our carbon footprint and work with a number of organisations to measure and reduce their overall impact on the environment through recycling, business travel and the energy that runs their offices.
When it comes to the type of place Artemis is to work, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is increasingly important in everything they do. By signing up with and committing to tough targets set by industry bodies such as the Diversity Project and the Women in Finance Charter, they are striving for excellence in our approach. Not just to hire diverse candidates, but to ensure that they have a truly inclusive culture.
They recognise the difference they can make on DEI and the environment is through their involvement with the companies they invest in; their Stewardship team work hard to ensure that they invest or use their vote, if they have one, to influence a more sustainable and equitable future.
Each year the firm gives a fixed proportion of revenues to the Artemis Charitable Foundation. Their staff and the trustees of the Foundation choose which charities will benefit from that income. They encourage all staff to get involved directly too, through a range of volunteering opportunities and the opportunity to make charitable donations through GAYE which Artemis has long had a policy of matching.
