Who are they looking for?

abrdn, in partnership with Women Returners, is looking to support professional women through a 6 month returnship. Applicants must have taken a career break of 18 months or more (as at March 2022). You may have been working on a small-scale basis to fit around your other commitments or have not done any paid work for a number of years.

As this programme is funded by the Scottish Government Women Returners Fund, it is only open for women to apply.

What roles do they have available?

Third Party ESG Lead
The Global Procurement Team support the wider business in the procuring of goods and /or services to enable the organisation’s day to day operations. Using effective business partnering we support the delivery of commercial value whilst achieving improved service and effective risk management within the supply chain. The purpose of this role is to implement and lead a Third-Party ESG Programme.

Operations Specialist
Public Markets Operations Solutions is responsible for providing change management capability to business led initiatives within Public Market Operations, responding to changes in current and future needs, issues and problem solving solutions between Public Market Operations and the wider business, providing the appropriate service management framework to support the Investment team, ensuring abrdn can; operate in all required markets; maintain the required tax documentation; provision of proxy voting services for institutional and retail funds; as well as class action processing and monitoring.

Project Manager
Platform Development is a specialised function, supporting the development and transformation of abrdn’s award winning open-architecture platforms; Wrap and Elevate. They are about more than technology. You will lead a cross-functional team of change professionals from across the business – and beyond – to radically transform their end to end Platform business. This will be managed across a number of transition states and work-streams to allow them to achieve their intended business outcomes.

Business Analyst
Business Analysts play a key role throughout the change lifecycle, contributing to the initial shaping of work at the “idea” stage, helping colleagues and key external 3rd party partners understand and identify their requirements, contributing to designing solutions and supporting delivery, test and implementation of those solutions. BAs use their broad skill sets within this framework to contribute SME knowledge, business and systems knowledge to support the end to end solution.

Fixed Income Research Analyst
The Corporate Credit research area are working on output across a number of companies/counterparties from multiple geographies. They are looking to attract those with an understanding of fundamental company analysis and experience of Credit/Equity or Company Analysis in an investment context. It would be beneficial to have a good understanding/experience of interpreting financial statements/accounting alongside strong excel skills.

Internal Audit
